Built as a home
for a Baron and his family in 1776 it is an impressive site. Within the grounds
there are still numerous outbuildings historically used as the caretaker's
house, a servants quarters building, a baking house and stables for horses and
cattle. Two pigeonniares and a natural well also remain.
In 2002 work
began on a sympathetic renovation of the property. The project lasted 4 years,
and the restoration has been successful in providing 2 beautifullly charming
period bedrooms both with ensuites; A modern Cottage that is opens out into a
rustic courtyard, and a swimming pool housed in a delightful stonewalled area
with ivy and flowers.
Wireless
internet access gives a modern feel without being intrusive.
The estate
comprises 52 acres of farmland that is still farmed today. A walking trail and
map is at your disposal. |
